History of Sic BoSic Bo originated in China. It is known as the flagship game in casinos in Macau just as craps is the flagship game of casinos in Las Vegas.
There are many myths of how Sic bo was invented- it is thought that Chinese gamblers used to throw dice in a covered dish and then bet on the result.
The numbers on the dice would then be revealed. Rumour has it that the game was originally played with numbered bricks by Chinese labourers- they´d toss them up into the air and then bet on the how they landed.
These days at land based casinos 3 dice are thrown in an automated mechanism that rolls the dice with a shuddering motion while bets are being placed. When the mechanism stops, the numbers on the dice are revealed by a display over the table and the winning bets are paid.
Sic Bo was introduced to the US in the early 1900s by Chinese migrants to the U.S. who worked on the railroads and the construction industry.
